Cognition is a term referring to the mental processes involved in gaining and expressing knowledge, comprehension, & memory. These cognitive processes include thinking, knowing, remembering, judging, and problem-solving. These are higher-level functions of the brain and encompass language, reading, perception, and planning.
Cognitive pathways can suffer damage when a person incurs a brain injury. The ability to fully receive & express cognition can be vastly affected, however, with frequent and intensive stimulation, the person can experience wide-ranging recovery.
Our Tutoring department applies cognitive therapy using auditory, visual, speech, & tactile modalities.
Our Cognitive Therapists offer one-on-one sessions lasting approx. ½ hour.
