Quad position (hands & knees)
Creeping is a function of the midbrain and requires coordination. It also develops the midbrain - which lifts our body off the ground and puts us in a 3-dimentional position. It's the foundational motor movement establishing hemispheric dominance.
Creeping grows balance, as the person must be able to maintain steadiness while on all 4's, or he could fall.
When the the midbrain is properly developed and creeping is initiated, it will efficiently move the R arm forward in combination with the L leg, or vice-versa, in a cross-pattern type of
co-ordinated locomotion.
Creeping is vital to the development of depth perception, eye/hand coordination, body management, and a necessary stage of development leading to standing & walking.
Knee Pads are a must!
